A Black Cat Hunt Gives Downtown Foley a New Way to Explore on October 15
Find hidden black cats in downtown shops during Foley Main Street’s free Third Thursday scavenger hunt on October 15, 2026.

Downtown Foley’s Third Thursday is turning its October shopping evening into “The Prowl.” On Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. Central, visitors can look for black cats hidden inside participating businesses and collect points through the Downtown Foley Passport. Foley Main Street lists the event as free. Event details from Foley Main Street.
The appeal is simple: the scavenger hunt gives locals a reason to step into shops they may have passed for years, while visitors get a way to explore downtown beyond a single restaurant or attraction. Foley Main Street says participating businesses will stay open during the event.
How to take part: Open the Downtown Foley Passport before you go. Foley Main Street says the passport supports business check-ins, scavenger hunts and points. Its participating-business page lists places to consider for a downtown route, including the Foley Art Center, Fish River Furnishings & Art Gallery, Dorothy June Booksellers and several dining stops. The page also contains September event copy, so check it closer to October 15 for current specials and participating locations.
Plan to arrive early enough for a relaxed walk between stops. The hunt runs for two hours, and Foley Main Street has not published a required starting point or a list of where the October cats will be hidden. For the latest details, use the organizer’s October event page.
