How to Plan Your Frank Brown Songwriters Festival Experience
November 5–15, 2026: choose a venue, find a songwriter round, and check admission before you go.
By Gulf Coast Navigator ·

The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival returns November 5–15, 2026, bringing more than 200 songwriters and over 600 performances to venues along the Alabama–Florida Gulf Coast.
Unlike a one-stage festival, Frank Brown spans more than two dozen stages. Songwriter rounds let audiences hear the stories behind songs from the people who wrote them. A little planning makes the large schedule easier to enjoy.
Choose the right part of the festival
From November 5–8, performances are scheduled across participating venues. This is a useful window if you want to explore several Gulf Shores and Orange Beach locations. From November 9–15, performances shift primarily to Flora-Bama, making it easier to settle in at one destination. Check the current location for each performance before setting out.
Start with a venue, then pick a songwriter
Open the official 2026 schedule and filter by venue and date. You can also search a songwriter by name. The festival app offers schedule updates and reminders, useful if you plan to attend several rounds.
Are performances free?
Many performances are free, but admission varies by venue and show. Some locations charge a cover and selected concerts require a separate ticket. Confirm the admission terms on the specific listing before making a reservation or traveling.
What is a songwriter round?
Several writers typically take turns performing and sharing the stories behind their songs. The person onstage may not be the recording artist who made a song famous. Arrive before the set starts, keep conversation low during the music, and ask the venue whether reservations are available.
Build a manageable festival night
Pick one part of town.
Choose one primary venue.
Select one or two rounds that fit your evening.
Plan dinner nearby rather than repeatedly crossing between Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Flora-Bama.
The 42nd annual festival runs Thursday, November 5, through Sunday, November 15, 2026. Its organizer lists more than 200 songwriters, over 600 performances and more than two dozen stages. Schedules and admission policies can change, so recheck the official schedule on the day you attend.
